The Director of Application Services’ primary responsibility is to oversee all of the user-facing business applications and related activities. The main goals of this position are to develop and manage application portfolios targeting various functional areas/verticals.  This includes leading the direction of UI/UX, functional packaging and business-facing features of applications. In this role, you will supervise the development and maintenance of the suite of domain applications using best practices through appropriate staffing and management of the technical team. You are self-driven with proven communication skills to plan, coordinate and direct all activities related to application requirements, design, development and deployment to enterprise-grade customers. Additionally, this role will work closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, implement and support best-of-breed applications in the supply chain domain. Responsibilities
  • Implement front-end technical architecture, design and development of enterprise-class web applications
  • Manage application infrastructure such web server, domain models, services and associated platform APIs
  • UI/UX frameworks selection for modern enterprise and mobile applications
  • Lead multiple front-end developers on agile squads to deliver application experiences
  • Drive architectural discussions for new applications and improvements to existing applications
  • Deliver solid, detailed technical design and architectural documentation
  • Work with UX team on building and implementing a Design System with tight governance managed across the front-end team
  • Manage overall prioritizations between customer activities, releases and new feature implementations
  • Contribute ideas for making the application better and easier to use
  • Mentor and support team members on-shore and off-shore
Must-Haves
  • Demonstrated ability to build elegant and engaging user interfaces
  • Deep expertise of JavaScript and Angular 8
  • Extensive knowledge of other JS libraries and frameworks including Angular 8, React, jQuery and D3
  • Extensive experience with CSS frameworks and preprocessors
  • Expert in HTML5/CSS3 and creating cross-browser responsive applications
  • Experienced and knowledgeable with package management, version control and build processes and continuous integration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals across the organization
  • Experience with REST Web Services
  • Experience using state management (e.g., NGRX)
  • Experience writing UI unit tests and performance optimization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or business administration
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in front-end development and engineering
  • Demonstrable work including code examples, outcomes and thought processes
